  • It is with heavy heart that I inform you of Leroy “Tubby” Poulson, first recipient of the “Iron Men for Christ Lifetime Achievement Award”, passing today 5/14/2010. He was a great man of God and a true American Hero, an inspiration to us all. He was a crew member of the highest decorated Helicopter Flight crew in Vietnam where he was awarded the Navy Cross for Valor. A long time active member of the Nederland Christian Church. A wonderful family man. A retired teacher, and a friend to all who knew him. Details of his service will be announced.
  • Iron Men for Christ Update  
    • Get ready for our next Iron Men for Christ outdoor event which will be at Chris’s Home in Lumberton coming in June. Great food, great fellowship, fun games. Details coming soon! We will ask his neighbors for forgiveness after the event.
    • We are moving the concealed handgun carry class from July 17 to August 21 due to a conflict with VBS. Anyone over the age of 21 is eligible 18 for active duty Military. Please invite coworkers, family members, or friends or anyone who may be interested in obtaining their concealed carry license. For details ask Bill B. or James S.
    • Our next Men’s breakfast will be June 12. James S. and David T. will be doing the cooking so get ready. Tums will be available on request. We still need someone to do the program that day. Contact Bill B. if you are interested in doing the program.
    • Gear Up! Last breakfast Bill B. demonstrated the Berkey Water filter. He took murky stagnant water right out of the drainage ditch behind the church mixed some coffee in it, poured it in his Berkey Sport bottle and drank it.
